The account balance is an internal wallet in the client area, separate from your linked card or payment system. You can add funds to it in advance, and they are charged automatically when an invoice or service renewal falls due.
How the balance differs from paying invoices directly
A "direct" payment is a one-time payment for a specific invoice, made with whichever method you pick at that moment: card, bank transfer, or cryptocurrency. The balance is an accumulated amount sitting on the account that is automatically spent on future invoices if balance charging is enabled in the client area. The two options do not exclude each other: you can keep a small sum on the balance for minor top-up charges while still paying larger invoices separately.
How to top up the balance
A top-up is made in the client area through the balance section, not by paying a specific invoice: you enter an arbitrary amount and a payment method. The available methods match the ones used for regular invoices — card, bank transfer, electronic payment systems; each is covered in detail in how to pay for hosting.
- The top-up appears on the balance after the payment system confirms the payment, not instantly when the button is clicked.
- If a top-up does not appear after a reasonable time, check the payment status with your bank or payment system before trying again.
- The balance currency is usually fixed for the account — check it in the client area so you do not top up in a different currency and lose money on conversion.
Where to see the remainder and the charge history
The current balance is shown on the client area's main page and in the finance section. The same place holds the operation history: every top-up and every charge with its date, amount, and the service the payment relates to. It is worth checking this history against your bank statement from time to time, especially if the account has several services with auto-renewal enabled.
Automatic charges when services renew
If auto-renewal is enabled for a service and the balance has enough funds, the system charges the required amount by itself, without creating a separate invoice for manual payment. This is convenient for services that should not be interrupted — for example, a server running a live website. How this kind of renewal is configured and which notifications arrive in advance is described in renewal notifications.
What happens if the balance is not enough
If the balance holds less than the amount due, the system usually does not charge it partially — it issues a regular invoice payable by any available method instead. In that case the service is renewed only after that invoice is paid separately, not automatically. To avoid missing the moment, keep a margin on the balance ahead of the next renewal, or check upcoming charges in the finance section in advance.
Can the balance be refunded
If the balance holds an amount you no longer need — for example, after closing your last service — you can ask support whether that amount can be refunded. The general conditions of what can be refunded and when are described in hosting refunds.
Account balance checklist
- You know which currency your account balance is kept in.
- The top-up and charge history is checked against your bank statement.
- The balance is checked in advance before a large renewal.
- You understand what happens on a shortfall — a separate invoice is issued, not a partial charge.
