Proxmox VE
25 articles in this section
Proxmox VE is an open-source virtualization platform that scales from a single test box to a multi-node cluster. This section starts with installing Proxmox VE 9 and creating your first virtual machines and LXC containers, setting up network bridges and VLANs, and choosing storage — ZFS, LVM, Ceph, or a plain directory.
From there it covers what a growing setup needs: snapshots and VM cloning, live migration between nodes without stopping a service, building a cluster with HA, and diagnosing a broken quorum. A separate block covers Proxmox Backup Server — installation, backup schedules, deduplication and encryption, and restoring a machine from a backup.
Narrower topics are covered too: GPU passthrough for machine learning workloads, firewalls at the datacenter, node, and VM level, users and roles through ACLs, two-factor protection for the web panel, REST API automation, and VM templates with cloud-init for fast deployment.
